Robin Bracewell
Company Director
Robin originally trained as a Civil Engineer before joining the family haulage business in 1979, when his father, Alan Mathews Bracewell, asked for his support. At that time, the company operated just one flat-bed vehicle, with Robin personally responsible for both driving and vehicle maintenance.
Through decades of dedication and steady growth, Robin has played a central role in shaping the business into what it is today. The fleet has evolved from a single vehicle to 19 modern curtain-sided vehicles with tail lifts, reflecting the company’s commitment to meeting customers’ changing needs.
Robin’s hard work and determination laid the foundations for the thriving fourth-generation family business it is today, built on reliability, strong relationships, and pride in doing the job properly.
Katherine Bracewell
Company Director
Kath has been at the heart of A M Bracewell Transport since its early days. After marrying Robin in 1978, their first child, David, was born in 1979 — just as the business was beginning its journey.
From the outset, Kath played an active role in supporting the company, managing the phones, traffic administration, and accounts, all while raising four children. In 1997, their youngest, Katie, was born — continuing the family’s close connection to the business.
Today, Kath works alongside Katie, supporting the ongoing modernisation and development of company systems. As the business transitions into its fourth generation of leadership, Kath is gradually easing into retirement, proud of the strong foundations built over decades of dedication and hard work.
David Bracewell
Transport Director
David began his journey with A M Bracewell Transport while still at college, assisting with van deliveries and learning the operational side of the business from the ground up. As the company expanded and additional drivers were required, he joined full time and gained his Heavy Goods Vehicle licence at the age of 21.
Now representing the fourth generation of the Bracewell family, David oversees all transport operations and fleet maintenance. With hands-on experience as a driver and a deep understanding of logistics, he ensures the smooth, efficient running of the fleet while upholding the high standards our customers expect.
Together, David and Katie lead the business with a balance of operational expertise and strategic development, securing the company’s future while honouring its proud history dating back to the 1920s.
Katie Dowling
Business Director
Katie joined A M Bracewell Transport in October 2018 after graduating with a First Class Honours degree in Business Leadership and Management. As part of the fourth generation of the Bracewell family, she is proud to continue the company’s long-standing heritage while helping shape its future.
Katie leads on business development, HR, marketing, and systems, bringing strong organisational ability and IT expertise to the company. Her forward-thinking approach has supported improvements across internal processes, compliance, and brand development.
Passionate about people and continuous improvement, Katie is focused on strengthening the business while maintaining the personal service and family values that define A M Bracewell Transport.
Chris Ainsworth
Transport Planner
Chris joined A M Bracewell Transport in November 2025, bringing with him over 10 years of experience in transport planning. His extensive industry knowledge and practical expertise make him a valuable addition to our team.
With a strong understanding of route optimisation, operational efficiency, and customer service, Chris plays an important role in supporting the smooth running of our transport operations.
We’re delighted to have Chris on board and look forward to the positive impact he will continue to make on our operations and future growth.
Ella Eastwood
Business Administrator
Ella joined the team straight from high school to begin her Apprenticeship in Accounts. Since then, she has become a valued member of the finance department, supporting the day-to-day running of our accounts with enthusiasm and attention to detail.
Alongside her role with us, Ella is currently studying at university for her Finance degree, demonstrating her commitment to developing her knowledge and building a strong career within the industry.
We’re proud to support Ella’s professional growth and to have her as part of the A M Bracewell team.
Louise Hurley
Transport Administrator
Louise joined AM Bracewell in 2025 as our Transport Administrator, playing a key role in supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the transport operation.
Working closely with both the traffic office and the accounts department, Louise helps bridge the gap between transport and finance — ensuring accurate administration, clear communication, and efficient processes across the business.
Her organised approach and attention to detail make her an important link within the team, helping everything run seamlessly behind the scenes.
